Fire Communion Blessing & Prayer

May what you have released here be forever gone from your spirit and cease to trouble you, that you might move forward to embrace new gifts, and new life.

May your heart feel heard, and known, and tended to, liberated into new patterns of hope, and healing.

For all that has been broken in our lives, and in our world, may we do the work of real repair, and restoration.

In our community, let us hold in our hearts all those who feel especially burdened - who feel alone or lost, who lack shelter literally or emotionally, and help us to keep open our hearts and our lives in a spirit of hospitality, that we might make a dwelling place for the holy that resides in all beings.

As we move into this new year, let us cultivate together the strength to welcome every kind of gift and all manner of ways to be on the journey together.

Out of the flames of fear, writes Sara Eileen LaWall
We rise with courage of our deepest convictions
to stand for justice, inclusion and peace
Out of the flames of scrutiny
We rise to proclaim our faith
With hope to heal a fractured and hurting world
Out of the flames of doubt
We rise to embrace the mystery, wonder and awe
of all there is and all that is yet to be
Out of the flames of hate
We rise with the force of love
Love that celebrates our shared humanity
Out of the flames we rise

Amen. Blessed be.
