Invocation
Gather your many selves, your known and unknown parts and stories.
Your secrets and your longings,
your joys and doubts and hopes and confusions.
Your true desires.
Gather your many selves - right now - with open arms,
invite each into this space -
into this sacred circle we co-create -
because all are welcome here.
Feel the connection to those that sit to your left and to your right as we call in all that is holy and sacred and beautiful.
As we invite in support and companionship from Life and Love.
As we name and shape the container for this time of ceremony, of threshold.
This time of honoring - Life, Queerness, Ministry.
Allow your eyes to close as we connect to the firmness of the Earth under our feet - giving thanks to the land that holds and sustains us.
Giving thanks for the abundant Life around us, aflame, calling to be seen and known.
We fill our hearts with gratitude for what is possible.
Spirit of Love unbounded, Spirit of Liberation and Purpose, of Call and Queerness -
Join us in this gathering
Nourish all parts of us so that we may be fully present.
Elders and ancestors, known and unknown,
- who seek and sought truth and communion in the face of resistance and denial -
who reveal new ways of loving and belonging -
join us.
Strengthen the threads of connection present in this room.
Root us in that larger knowing - of all time and all space and all stories.
Wisdom of the body,
of the mind,
of the emotions and the spirit
Feed the stirrings within -
Soften what has hardened
Open us to receive this morning’s message.
Guide us into new ways of seeing and being seen.
We invite those who feel called - to speak the word or names of that which carries the holy,
of that which is sacred, and beautiful and true and eternal in your life.
We invite you now to speak this aloud into the shared space, truly inviting its presence into this service for all who have gathered.
May we be carried forward by these words and all that moves through them - as we enter now into this sacred time together.
